Using RSS feeds isn't dramatically different than favorites. It just makes checking your favorite websites easier and more efficient. Instead of having to load each website in your favorites separately, you load one site that checks all of the sites for you. And, you don't have to waste the time of checking sites that haven't posted any new content.
