Hey.  I’m going to take this opportunity to let you in on the process I use to teach myself how to do complicated graphics related tasks.  I find something I like, try to copy it, then use those techniques in my own original works.

So what we are going to do with this tutorial is to copy the YouTube logo using Inkscape.  Pay close attention to the use of paths in this tutorial as that is a new technique to the readers of this blog.

Have fun, and after you are done, give it a shot.  If you do try anything feel free to post it here as a comment.  (If you don’t have access to a website, just upload your picture to flickr and drop the link in a comment box).  I’d love to see them.
