Google Chrome: The Surprise Browser
This time last week, I had no idea Google was working on its own browser. I knew they were partnered with Mozilla Firefox and honestly didn’t see the need for this venture. However, with Google being the Internet powerhouse that they are, we were all surprised by the release of Chrome this week.
Chrome is an interesting concept. It has very simple design and interface, yet features tabbed browsing as is expected from modern browsers. But as far as special features, it has a few small aspects stolen from other browsers. For example it has thumbnails of top sites like Opera and an “Incognito Mode” like Safari’s privacy mode and Internet Explorer’s coming InPrivate feature. It is open source and meets expected web standards, so I would recommend to the most basic internet users over IE. For all others I can’t speak highly enough of Firefox. Chrome’s simplicity does not compare to Mozilla’s browser perfection.
