Google started out determining where a web site should be listed on the search engine results page by how many links a site has pointing toward it. The value of incoming links is still used today as a marker of a good site. So how do you get links?
An easy way to get links is by joining a relevant forum and adding your web site url into your profile. I found this profile in the tatstore forum, and it is a great example of how to set up your profile signature.

Mark after checking my site I have 1250 links most of them are from tatstore forum. However I have links with other businesses. My question is should I also post those links to my signature line on the forum for greater SEO?

Backlinks may become a important asset and help with off page internet marketing. Have you ever witnessed links result in a reverse consequence on Yahoo rankings? And do you know if there is a way to find when pay per click is better than organic SEO? I myself manage numerous small online businesses and as a matter of fact manage a links building service. Still, I sometimes see it useful to use Google PPC to building links.
