Add Bling for Christmas Pizzazz!

Last spring a wedding planner called with an order for a lot of Swaorvski crystal tattoos.  Being curious about the order I asked Ben to call her back to see what she would be using them for.  She said she used the crystal tattoos to embellish plain, inexpensive, clear vases for weddings and receptions.   I thought this would be a great idea, especially for decorating for the holidays, so I had to try it.

The Swarovski crystal tattoos add a touch of elegance to any plain glass ornament, candle holder or vase.  I purchased votive candle holders at Michael’s and a package of bulb ornaments at Target, all very inexpensively.  Applying the crystals to the candle holders and balls was easy.  Just start with a clean dry surface and peel the white backing off of the crystal tattoo, press the clear cellophane with the crystals to the surface of the item you want to embellish, now gently peel the cellophane off.  The crystal adhesive is heat activated, so after you have applied the crystals you will need to warm them a little.  I used my hand to cover the crystals for about ten to fifteen seconds.  You may want to use your hair dryer to expedite the heating.  That’s all there is too it!

Since the crystals are not being used for their intended purpose, be careful handling the embellished item and never put it in the dishwasher.  Gently wrap the item in tissue paper for storage.  We have created a small inexpensive package of crystals you could use for decorating.  Click here to see the special Swarovski Holiday tattoo package.  As you know, these crystals usually retail on our site for $5.50.  We are offering this package at more than 80% off!

Next week I will have a few inexpensive customized gift ideas you could make using your stencils and crystals.  See you then.
