Google Reader Update
Back in July, I wrote a post introducing the use of RSS feeds.
One of the ways I showed you how to aggregate them was with the Google Reader. Earlier this week Google updated the reader with new looks and features. I thought I’d take the opportunity to share these features and refresh the idea of using RSS to surf the Internet more efficiently.
The new look to the Google Reader actually improves functionality. Load times are faster and the addition of collapsible navigation makes things easier to find. The social aspect of RSS feeds was also improved. In order to keep up with emerging social aggregates, the Google Reader now notably features content from friends.
Using RSS feeds makes checking for new content on your favorite websites as easy and efficient as checking your e-mail. Find the orange RSS button, subscribe to it with Google Reader, and surf more efficiently.

I just wanted to share also that there is a really useful bookmarklet in the settings tab, under goodies. Just click and drag the ‘subscribe’ link to your bookmarks toolbar. I use it, nearly every day.
