Keeping your Power Palette in Top Condition
I would like to take this week to address an issue with the Power Palette. We seem to be getting some calls from customers who have a misunderstanding as to the proper procedure for cleaning the Power Palette.
Here are the correct steps:
If you are doing a multi day show, at the end of the day turn your dial to the cleaner and spray the cleaner through the airbrush gun, turn your dial to the dead spot and you are done for the day.
If it will be about 3 days or more between uses of the Power Palette, turn the pressure on the Power Palette down all the way, now back flush all the lines, next, remove the ink bottles. If you are using the Duratat ink, you will replace all the ink bottles with bottles that contain a cleaning solution of half Tat Off and half water. Run the cleaner through the lines, remove the cleaner bottles and replace the cleaning solution with rubbing alcohol. Run the alcohol through the lines and keep these bottles on the Power Palette until you are ready for the next show.
If you are using an alcohol based ink you will use rubbing alcohol as your only cleaner. Remove the ink bottles from you Power Palette and run alcohol through each line. Now you are done
The reason for mixing Tat Off with water for your cleaning solution is that this works as effectively as using pure Tat Off and it will save you some money. You need to run alcohol through the lines after the Tat Off because the Tat Off tends to leave a film in the lines. This film will not harm your Power Palette lines but the alcohol will dry the lines clear and clean.
Never let your Power Palette sit for more than three days with ink in the lines. The ink can dry and then your only option is to replace the lines.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
