Enhance Your Tats with Swarovski Crystals
Now that we are getting closer to the prime season for tats I wanted to give you a reminder about the success we had applying Swarovski crystals to enhance tats. You can go to my initial blog on the subject: Adding Swarovski Crystal Accents to Airbrush Tattoos.
This idea was so successful for us at the New York Beauty Show that I think it bears repeating. I really, really want to encourage you to try it for yourself. I don’t think you will be disappointed. You should already have the crystals so there will be no additional cost to you. What do you have to lose?
I do have a few suggestions for applying the crystals:
Since you have already cleaned the skin to apply the tat, you do not need to do any further cleaning. You will apply the crystal to the tat before applying the powder. If your fingers are sticky from spraying tats, you may want to apply some powder to your fingers before applying the crystal.
Use tweezers to remove the crystal from the foil. Try to get the crystal as close to the tip of the tweezers as possible. Do not apply the crystal to the area of the tat where the ink is, if the crystal comes off it will pull the ink off with it. Position the crystal on the skin using the tweezers, with your free hand; hold the crystal to the skin for about ten seconds. Next, you may apply the powder to the tat and the crystal. If necessary, use a Q-tip to swab the powder off the crystal.
If the customer insists on having you apply the crystal to the inked part of their tat, make sure they know the tat will last longer than the crystal and the crystal may pull some of the ink off when it comes off. The crystals will stay on the skin three days to one week.
Now is the time to practice so you will be very well experienced by the time you apply your first crystal to your customer.
Remember to review my previous blog on this subject. I have some helpful suggestions and pictures.
Let me know how this goes for you. I would be very interested to hear from you.
